Common Name: Mexican Oregano Latin Name: Lippia graveolens Description: Mexican Oregano is un-related to the more familiar Greek Oregano. The plant grows wild from the Southern U.S. border south into Central America. Mexican Oregano is used in traditional Spanish influenced Mexican cuisine. The flavor is not totally unlike Greek Oregano, however, with a noticeable spicy note that goes well with regional dishes. Mexico produces the best, highest quality, of this herb.
